This is not emergency care
Concur is not an emergency service. Cases are not monitored in real time. If you have severe pain, a suspected fracture or dislocation, loss of sensation or movement, signs of infection, or symptoms that are worsening quickly, seek local emergency medical care immediately rather than waiting for a second opinion.
A document review, not an examination
The second opinion is prepared by an orthopedic specialist using only the information and documents you supply. There is no physical examination, no new imaging, and no direct clinical relationship with you. A document review cannot detect what only an in-person assessment would reveal, and its conclusions depend entirely on the accuracy and completeness of what was submitted.
It does not replace your treating doctor
The opinion is intended to inform a conversation with the doctor who is treating you. It is not an instruction to start, stop or change any treatment, and it is not a prescription, a referral, or a certificate. Do not delay, avoid or discontinue care that your treating doctor has recommended because of anything in the report. Discuss it with them before making any decision.
No guaranteed outcome
A second opinion may agree with, partially agree with, or differ from your existing diagnosis and proposed treatment. All of these are legitimate outcomes of an independent review. We cannot guarantee any particular conclusion, nor any particular result from following it.
Scope
The service covers orthopedic conditions in patients older than 3 years who already have a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis and a proposed treatment plan. If your case falls outside this, we will tell you and refund you rather than provide an opinion we cannot properly support.
On the use of software
Concur is not an AI diagnostic service. Every opinion sent to a patient is written and signed off by a human orthopedic specialist. Software is used only to organise submitted material for the reviewing specialist, and, separately, for internal quality and research work that never forms part of your report.
